Durian

The durian prefers a sunny to semi-shady, very warm, and humid location in a tropical climate. It is extremely sensitive to frost and requires consistently high temperatures and high humidity.

The soil should be deep, rich in humus, and very well-draining. A slightly acidic pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; consistent moisture is important, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a large tree and usually reaches 20 to 40 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 5 to 10 years under good conditions.
