Diplademia
(Mandevilla sanderi)
Dipladenia prefers a location that is fully sunny to semi-shady, warm, and very sheltered in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and is usually cultivated as a potted or houseplant in cooler regions.
The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and very well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; regular moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should definitely be avoided.
The plant grows as a strongly vining climber or an overhanging shrub and can reach several meters in length (with a climbing aid). It is primarily valued for its large, funnel-shaped flowers in pink, red, or white.
