Dahlia

Dahlias prefer a sunny, warm, and wind-protected location in a temperate climate. They are not frost-hardy, and their tubers must be protected in winter.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value of about 6.0 to 7.0 is ideal; consistent moisture is needed, and waterlogging should be avoided.

Depending on the variety, the plant grows to about 30 cm to over 1.5 meters tall. It is primarily known for its large, colorful flowers.
