Curry plant
(Helichrysum italicum)
Curry plant prefers a sunny, warm, and dry location. It is very heat and drought tolerant, and only slightly frost tolerant.
The soil should be very well-drained, sandy to stony, and rather poor in nutrients. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value (approx. 6.0–7.5) is ideal. Waterlogging should be avoided at all costs.
The plant grows as an evergreen subshrub and usually reaches a height of 30 to 70 cm.
It is primarily valued for its spicy, curry-like aroma and its use as an ornamental and aromatic plant.
