Citronella

Citronella prefers a fully sunny, warm, and sheltered location. It is very heat-loving and sensitive to frost.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. The plant requires regular watering; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a clump-forming grass and usually reaches 1 to 2 meters in height.
It is primarily valued for its lemony scent and its use as an insect repellent.
