Ceylon Cinnamon

Ceylon Cinnamon

(Cinnamomum verum)

Ceylon cinnamon prefers a full sun to partial shade, warm, and very sheltered location. It is sensitive to frost and grows best in tropical to subtropical climates.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. The plant requires consistent moisture; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as an evergreen tree and usually reaches 8 to 15 meters in height.
It is primarily valued for its bark as a high-quality cinnamon spice and as a cultivated plant.
