Cayenne Pepper

Chilies prefer a full-sun, warm, and sheltered location. They are very heat-loving and sensitive to frost.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. The plant requires regular watering; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a bushy subshrub and usually reaches a height of 50 to 120 cm.
It is primarily valued as a spice and utility plant for its hot fruits.
