Camu Camu

The Camu Camu prefers a sunny to semi-shady, very warm and humid location in a tropical climate. It grows particularly well in floodplains and near bodies of water.

The soil should be humus-rich, slightly acidic, and consistently moist to temporarily wet. A pH value between approximately 4.5 and 6.5 is ideal; it tolerates drought poorly.

The plant grows as a shrub or small tree, usually reaching 2 to 6 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 3 to 5 years under good conditions.
