Calliandra

The Calliandra prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm and sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and cannot tolerate prolonged cold periods.

The soil should be loose, well-draining, and moderately nutrient-rich. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 7.0 is ideal; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a shrub or small tree and usually reaches a height of 1.5 to 3 meters. It often flowers after just 1 to 2 years, but does not produce edible fruits in any significant form.
