Boxwood

Boxwood prefers a semi-shady to sunny, sheltered location. It is very frost-hardy and well-suited for temperate to subtropical climates.

The soil should be humus-rich, calcareous to neutral, and well-drained. A pH value between approximately 6.5 and 7.5 is ideal. Consistent moisture is preferred; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as an evergreen, densely branched shrub or small tree and usually reaches 0.5 to 4 meters in height, depending on pruning.

It is valued primarily for its excellent pruning tolerance and dense, decorative growth habit, making it ideal for hedges and topiary.
