Guzmania Bromeliad
(Guzmania spp.)
The Guzmania bromeliad prefers a bright to semi-shady, warm, and very sheltered location without direct sun. It is sensitive to frost and requires high humidity.
The soil should be very loose, humous, and extremely well-draining, often as an epiphytic mixture with bark. It is also important that the leaf rosette is regularly filled with soft water, while the root area is kept only moderately moist. Waterlogging should be avoided.
The plant grows as a compact bromeliad and usually reaches 30 to 60 cm in height. It forms a striking, colorful flower rosette, which often remains decorative for weeks to months. It is particularly valued for its intense, long-lasting flower colors and exotic appearance.
