Serviceberry

The custard apple tree prefers a sunny, warm, and sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and requires high temperatures all year round.

The soil should be deep, rich in humus, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 7.5 is ideal; it does not tolerate waterlogging.

The plant grows as an evergreen tree and usually reaches 10 to 20 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruit after about 5 to 8 years under good conditions.
