Borage

Borage prefers a sunny to partially shaded, warm location. It is very robust and highly adaptable.

The soil should be loose, nutrient-rich, and well-drained. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value (approx. 6.0–7.5) is ideal. The plant also copes well with rather dry conditions, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as an annual to short-lived perennial and usually reaches 30 to 80 cm in height. It is particularly valued for its edible flowers and leaves, as well as its use as a bee pasture.
