Wisteria

Wisteria prefers a full-sun, warm location in a temperate to subtropical climate. It is very frost-hardy and requires a distinct winter dormancy for good flower production.

The soil should be deep, humus-rich, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 7.5 is ideal; it does not tolerate waterlogging, but once established, the plant is quite robust.

The plant grows as a vigorous, woody climbing plant and requires stable climbing aids. It can grow several meters high and become very long-lived. It is particularly valued for its spectacular, hanging flower clusters.
