Cotton

Cotton prefers a full-sun, warm, and dry location. It is very heat-tolerant and frost-sensitive.

The soil should be loose, sandy to loamy, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. The plant requires moderate watering; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as an annual to perennial shrub and usually reaches 0.5 to 2 meters in height. It is primarily used commercially for its cotton fibers from the seed capsules.
