The bamboo orchid prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and humid location. It thrives best in a tropical climate without frost.
The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal, regular moisture is important, but waterlogging should be avoided.
The plant typically reaches a height of 1 to 2.5 meters and grows upright like bamboo. It can flower after about 2 to 3 years but does not produce edible fruits.
