Bamboo

Bamboo prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and sheltered location. Many species are very robust and, depending on the variety, frost-tolerant.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value (approx. 5.5–7.0) is ideal. Bamboo requires regular moisture but does not tolerate waterlogging.

Depending on the species, it grows as a clump-forming or running bamboo and can reach heights of 1 to over 20 meters. It is particularly valued for its fast growth, dense screening, and versatile uses.
