Apple
(Malus domestica)
The apple tree prefers a sunny to partially shaded, airy, and ideally wind-sheltered location. It requires regular watering, especially during dry periods, with the soil kept consistently moist but not waterlogged.
An ideal soil is deep, humus-rich, and well-drained, with a slightly acidic to neutral pH of about 6.0 to 7.0. Good nutrient supply reliably supports flowering and fruit development.
Under optimal conditions, the apple tree bears its first fruits after about 2 to 4 years. Depending on the variety and pruning, it usually reaches a height of about 3 to 6 meters and develops a spreading, long-lived crown.
