White Apple

The white sapote prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and sheltered location in a subtropical to mild tropical climate. It is only slightly susceptible to frost and tolerates short cold spells better than many other tropical fruits.

The soil should be deep, rich in humus, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 7.0 is ideal; regular moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as an evergreen tree and usually reaches 6 to 15 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 4 to 7 years under good conditions.
