Starflower

The Pentas prefers a full sun, warm, and sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and grows best in consistently high temperatures.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; regular moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a bushy perennial or small shrub and usually reaches 30 cm to 1.5 meters in height. It is primarily valued for its star-shaped flowers, arranged in umbels, in pink, red, white, or violet.
