Shampoo Ginger

Shampoo ginger prefers a semi-shady to sunny, warm, and very humid location. It is frost-sensitive and grows best in tropical to subtropical climates.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and well-drained. A slightly acidic pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. The plant requires a lot of water, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a herbaceous rhizome plant and usually reaches a height of 1 to 2 meters.
It is valued primarily for its fragrant inflorescences and the use of its rhizome in personal care products.
