Peppermint

Peppermint prefers a partially shaded to sunny, rather cool and moist location. It is very frost-hardy and grows in temperate to subtropical climates.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and consistently moist. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. The plant loves water, but waterlogging should still be avoided.

The plant grows as a perennial, vigorously spreading herbaceous plant and usually reaches 30 to 80 cm in height. It is particularly valued for its refreshing aroma and its use as a medicinal and tea plant.
