Paraguayan Boldo
(Plectranthus neochilus)
Paraguayan boldo prefers a full-sun to partial-shade, warm, and dry location. It is very robust, heat- and drought-tolerant, but sensitive to frost.
The soil should be loose, sandy to stony, and well-drained. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH (approx. 6.0–7.5) is ideal. Waterlogging should be avoided.
The plant grows as a low-growing, succulent groundcover, usually reaching 20 to 40 cm in height. It is particularly valued for its strong aroma and its use as an ornamental and useful plant.
