Mexican Goosefoot
(Dysphania ambrosioides)
Mexican Tea prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm location with good air circulation. It requires moderate watering and tolerates short dry periods, but should not dry out permanently.
Ideal is a loose, well-drained and moderately nutrient-rich soil with a pH value of about 6.0 to 7.5. The plant is very adaptable and also thrives on less fertile soils.
Mainly the aromatic leaves and young shoots are used as a spice and medicinal plant. It usually reaches a height of about 50 to 150 cm and grows as an upright, highly branched, herbaceous plant.
