Passion fruit

The passion fruit, also known as Maracuja, prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and grows best with stable warmth and high humidity.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; consistent moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a fast-climbing vine and requires a climbing aid. It can reach several meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 1 to 2 years under good conditions.
