Mango
(Mangifera indica)
The mango prefers a warm, sunny, and sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It requires regular watering, with the soil consistently moist but very well-drained.
Ideally, the soil should be deep, rich in humus, and very well-draining, with a slightly acidic to neutral pH of about 5.5 to 7.0. Waterlogging should be strictly avoided, as the roots are sensitive.
Under optimal conditions, it begins to bear fruit after about 3 to 6 years, producing sweet, aromatic fruits. The plant typically reaches a height of about 5 to 15 meters and develops a large, evergreen canopy.
