Tahitian Lime

Tahitian Lime

(Citrus latifolia)

The 'Tahiti' lime prefers a warm, sunny, and wind-protected location in a subtropical to tropical climate. It requires regular watering, with the soil kept consistently moist but well-drained.

An ideal soil is humus-rich, loose, and very well-drained, with a slightly acidic pH of about 5.5 to 6.5. Waterlogging must be avoided, as it can quickly lead to root damage.

Under optimal conditions, it begins to bear fruit after about 2 to 4 years, yielding juicy, mostly seedless limes. The plant typically reaches a height of about 3 to 6 meters and grows as a strong, evergreen citrus tree.
