Limequat

The limequat prefers a sunny to full-sun, warm, and sheltered location. It is more robust against cooler temperatures than the lime, but should be protected from severe frost.

The soil should be rich in humus, loose, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal. The plant prefers consistent soil moisture but does not tolerate waterlogging. During longer dry periods, regular watering is recommended.

The limequat grows as a small, evergreen tree or shrub and typically reaches a height of 2 to 4 meters. Under good conditions, it usually begins to bear fruit after about 2 to 3 years. It produces numerous small, yellowish-green to yellow fruits with an edible peel and pleasantly tart pulp.
