Coffee

The coffee tree prefers a semi-shady, warm, and very sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and reacts poorly to intense heat and drought stress.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and well-draining. A slightly acidic pH value between approximately 5.0 and 6.5 is ideal; consistent moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a shrub or small tree, usually reaching 2 to 5 meters in height. It typically bears its first coffee cherries after about 3 to 4 years under good conditions.
