Spearmint

Spearmint prefers a semi-shady to sunny, rather moist and cool location. It is very robust and quite frost-hardy.

The soil should be humous, loose, and consistently moist. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. The plant loves water, but waterlogging should still be avoided.

The plant grows as a strongly spreading perennial and usually reaches 30 to 80 cm in height.
It is valued primarily as a tea and spice plant for its fresh, mildly minty aroma.
