Erica prefers a sunny to partially shaded location with good air circulation. It requires regular watering, with the soil consistently moist but well-drained, and should never be allowed to dry out completely.
An ideal soil is humus-rich, loose, and acidic, with a pH of about 4.5 to 6.0. Calcareous soils should be avoided, as they can impair the plant's growth and health.
The plant does not produce edible fruits but numerous small, bell-shaped flowers in shades of pink, red, or violet. It typically reaches a height of about 20 to 60 cm and grows as a compact, bushy dwarf shrub.
