Variegated Creeping Charlie
(Plectranthus coleoides variegatus)
The variegated frankincense prefers a semi-shady to shady, warm and sheltered location without direct, strong midday sun. It requires regular watering, with the soil remaining evenly moist but well-drained.
An ideal soil is humus-rich, loose, and nutrient-rich with a slightly acidic to neutral pH value of approximately 5.5 to 7.0. Waterlogging should be avoided at all costs, as the roots are sensitive to it.
The plant produces small, inconspicuous flowers and is primarily cultivated for its decorative, white-green variegated foliage. It usually reaches a height of about 20 to 60 cm and grows as a creeping to trailing, heavily branching ornamental plant.
