Expanded clay aggregate

Expanded clay is a versatile, natural substrate for plants, consisting of fired clay. Strong heating creates lightweight, porous spheres that are particularly air-permeable and water-regulating.

Properties & Benefits:
Expanded clay stores water and slowly releases it back to the plants without causing waterlogging. At the same time, it ensures optimal root aeration and prevents root rot. It is pH-neutral, durable, reusable, and does not rot.

Application:

As a drainage layer (2–5 cm) at the bottom of the pot to prevent waterlogging.

As a decorative layer on the soil surface to reduce evaporation.

For mixing with soil (approx. 10–30%) to improve air and water circulation.

In hydroponics as a complete growing medium.

Suitable for:
Houseplants, vegetable and herb cultivation, ornamental plants, potted fruit plants, and all crops that require good root aeration.

Note:
Before use, expanded clay should be thoroughly rinsed with water to remove dust. For optimal results, monitor regularly and combine with nutrient solution or fertilizer depending on the application.
