Bamboo palm

The bamboo palm prefers a semi-shady to shady, warm and sheltered location. It is sensitive to frost and is very suitable as a houseplant or container plant.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. Consistent moisture is preferred; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a slow-growing, clumping palm shrub and usually reaches a height of 1 to 4 meters. It is particularly valued for its elegant, fan-shaped leaves and its good shade tolerance.
