It is an evergreen tree that can reach a height of up to 10 meters. The leaves are dark green, leathery, and glossy. The fruits are round to oval-shaped, with a green to yellowish skin and soft, creamy flesh.

It prefers subtropical to tropical climates and thrives best in well-drained soils. It requires regular watering, especially during dry periods, and cannot tolerate heavy frosts. The tree should be pruned regularly to ensure a healthy growth form and facilitate harvesting.
