Appearance and Origin
Primrose Jasmine, also known as Yellow Jasmine (Jasminum mesnyi), is an evergreen climbing plant belonging to the Olive family (Oleaceae). Originally from China, Yellow Jasmine is now found in many temperate to subtropical regions of the world. This plant is characterized by its bright yellow flowers and glossy, dark green foliage. The flowers emit a pleasant, sweet scent and typically appear in spring and early summer.

Growth & Blooming Period
It is a fast-growing climbing plant that can reach a height of up to 4-6 meters. It forms long, trailing shoots that wind well around trellises or other support structures. The blooming period usually extends from spring to early summer, although the plant can sporadically bloom during the summer in warm climates. The flowers appear in large, loose clusters, providing a spectacular sight in the garden or on the porch.

Cultivation and Care
Primrose Jasmine thrives best in sunny to semi-shady locations with well-drained, humus-rich soil. It prefers regular watering but should not be left standing in water to avoid root rot. Regular fertilization during the growing season promotes lush flowering. Yellow Jasmine can be kept in shape by light pruning after flowering and should be protected from heavy frost, especially in colder climates.

Pollination
The flowers are mainly visited by bees and other pollinating insects attracted by the sweet scent of the flowers. Pollination typically occurs through the transfer of pollen from one flower to another by these insects. The plant produces ample pollen and nectar to promote pollination and ensure fruit and seed production.
